It’s finally here! Castellvell del Camp is getting ready to host the ninth edition of CastellHell and share two days of extreme metal with you.
We’ve gathered practical information and our latest recommendations to help you prepare for the weekend. Read this guide before coming and keep an eye on our official channels: we’ll continue sharing updates before and during the festival.
Weather: pleasant days and chilly nights
The forecast points to a mostly sunny weekend:
- Friday 9 October: a high of 22 °C and a low of 9 °C.
- Saturday 10 October: a high of 23 °C and a low of 11 °C, with some cloudy spells.
Bring a jacket or sweatshirt. Nights and early mornings will be chilly, especially at the campsite. If you’re sleeping in a tent, bring a suitable sleeping bag and a sleeping mat or mattress to insulate you from the ground.
Forecasts may change, so check again before setting off.
Travel and getting to the festival
CastellHell takes place at the Poliesportiu Municipal de Castellvell del Camp, a few kilometres from Reus.
If you’re travelling by train
The main rail connections to Reus have resumed following the disruptions of recent days:
- From Barcelona and Tarragona: lines R14 and R15 serve Reus.
- From Tarragona and La Plana-Picamoixons: you can also use the RT1.
- From Móra la Nova, Falset and the Priorat: rail services have resumed on the R15.
- From Lleida: the R14 remains disrupted between Les Borges Blanques and La Plana-Picamoixons, with replacement road transport.
Allow extra time for your journey and check timetables and service status before setting off.
From Reus to Castellvell
You can walk from Reus in approximately 30 minutes, depending on your starting point. You can also use local public transport, checking timetables in advance, or take a taxi.
For your return journey after the concerts, if you don’t have your own vehicle, we recommend planning to walk back to Reus or booking a taxi in advance.
If you’re driving
Arrive with plenty of time to find parking. There will be a lot of vehicle and pedestrian traffic around the festival throughout the weekend.
Respect access to homes and keep passageways and emergency routes clear.
We encourage you to share a car. Through the festival community, you can contact other attendees to organise your outward and return journeys.
Kraken’s Nest: the CastellHell campsite
The campsite is located at Castellvell del Camp’s 11-a-side football pitch and will be available from Friday to Sunday.
Camping is free, but each person must book a place. Have your booking ready on arrival. Parking next to your tent is optional and requires a separate booking costing €20 per vehicle, with limited spaces available.
Toilets, showers and drinking water are available. Bring a tent, sleeping bag, sleeping mat, warm clothes and a torch.
Rules and consideration for others
Fires, cooking stoves, gas installations, personal barbecues, generators, sound systems, fireworks, glass containers and dangerous objects are not allowed.
Keep emergency passageways clear, leave the area clean and limit noise at night. Please also respect local residents when walking between the venue and campsite.
All campsite instructions are available on the website, including opening times, access, facilities and what you can and cannot bring.

Saturday BBQ
There will be a BBQ at the campsite on Saturday lunchtime, open to all festival attendees, including those who aren’t staying there. This is an activity organised by CastellHell; personal barbecues are not allowed.
Tickets, wristbands and stage times
Have your tickets ready on your phone or printed out to make validation easier.
Wristbands can be collected from the time the gates open on each day. We recommend arriving promptly to avoid queues and allow enough time before the first performances.
Stage times for all bands have already been published. Check them before coming to plan your weekend and avoid missing any concerts.
With the appropriate wristband, you can leave and re-enter the venue, subject to the conditions of your ticket and the rules applying to minors.
Food, drinks and facilities
At the venue, you’ll find bars, food trucks, toilets, tiered seating and merchandise stalls run by the festival, bands and other exhibitors.
- You can pay with card or cash, without tokens.
- Free tap water will be available.
- Vegetarian and vegan food options will be available.
- You may bring reasonable quantities of food, but no drinks or other liquids, subject to applicable exceptions for health reasons.

If you have a food allergy, ask the catering staff about available options. If you need assistance entering or moving around the venue, speak to festival staff.
